My Secret Sauce

·         Five ways in which I believe I have human capital that is truly unique.
1)    I am extremely driven in whatever I choose to do.
2)    I am very passionate when it comes to my interests.
3)    I am absolutely family oriented.
4)    I am an adventurous person and prefer to be outdoors at all times.
5)    I can be tough, but sensitive when the circumstance calls for it.

·         Interview the five people who know you the best.
The takeaway from this interview was that I am a very driven person. Also, that I am a very adventurous person which makes it why I am friends with this person.
The takeaway from this interview was that I am an observant person. Also, from being observant I notice detail most wouldn’t.
The takeaway from this interview was that I am again a driven person. Also, that I complete whatever I set out to do.
The takeaway from this interview was that I am an honest person. Also, that I speak my mind no matter what.

The takeaway from this interview was that I am a individual with intense drive. Also, I know what it takes to be successful.

·         I believe people see me how I see myself for the most part. The one thing I found different in how I assess myself compared to others is I didn’t realize how observant I was until the second interviewer mentioned it. I believe my interviewees are absolutely correct about me. The corrections to the list I would make is adding that I am an observant person and that I am an honest person without a filter.

My Customer's Avatar

My prototypical customer for my app that allows you to make a purchase anywhere at any time is a 40 year old lawyer business man that sits at his office all day and spends his time golfing on the weekend with his clients. The kind of hobbies my customer has
Is golfing and daily exercise to maintain his physique. The kind of car they tend to drive is a silver sports car. The tv shows these guys watch the news and financial investment shows. They have children and a wife that they put second to work. Their favorite politicians are normally republicans. They do their best to feel younger than they are.

I have nothing in common with my customer avatar. My gender, age, political preferences, and hobbies all differ from my customer avatar.

Alternative & Post-Purchase Evaluation

Through all three interviews I learned about about my segment and the steps they go through with their buying process. When it comes to my customers evaluating alternatives I found that they tend to place price and quality as the main variables they consider. When it comes to the method with which they purchase a product or service, they use online purchases as their main source of buying. When it comes to their evaluation of the purchase afterward they consider if they were satisfied or unsatisfied.

This segment in terms of alternative evaluation, purchase decision, and post-purchase evaluation cares about quality, but at an cheaper affordable price.

Coffing- "Portmanwho?"

When I started this assignment I was in a coffee shop and grabbed a magazine off of the table in front of me. I started flipping through the pages until my creative juices started flowing. I came across the word brewing and coffee since it was a coffee roasters magazine. This made me create the word, coffing. Coffing means the action of ordering a coffee, getting it, and drinking the beverage. I used this word daily every time I went to get a coffee with my best friend. At first, she was very confused what made me start saying this, but then she caught on to the trend with me. After a week, she texted me at our usual time and said “hey ready to go coffing”. I found this very hilarious and now we say it all the time.

Halfway Reflection

1) Tenaciousness is a competency. Some of the behaviors that I have used to keep up with the requirements of this course is organization. I used a planner to keep track of when assignments are due.
2) Tenaciousness is also about attitude. A
A moment I you felt like "giving up." was when I found out that you needed access to people to interview for the assignments, in which I did not have access to the first semester due to my location. Knowing that I can gain extra credit from quizzes, or surveys is what pulled me through. I do believe I have always had a tenacious attitude but I feel as I get older it continues to build. Different tough childhood experiences contributed to my tenacious attitude.
3) Three tips. Three tips I would offer next semester's student about (1) fostering the skills that support tenacity and (2) developing the 'tenacious mindset' would be the following:
1. Stay ORGANIZED.
2. Don’t be scared of FAILURE.
3.  Always give your BEST. (110%)

Reading Reflection No. 1- Week 7 Reading Reflection

The entrepreneur autobiography I decided to read was Steve Jobs. One admiring thing about Steve Jobs is that even though he is a business minded person who became very successful, he still is a spiritual person. He exhibits this when he took off to India to seek eastern spirituality. The thing I found the most admiring is that Steve he was a persistent person and he really did what he wanted. For example, when he went into Atari's office to get hired and would not leave until he was hired. The thing I found the least admiring is how he handled the birth of his daughter. For years he denied that he was the father of his daughter, until he finally took responsibility and claimed his daughter. I believe Steve Jobs encountered adversity and failure at a young age. His biological parents did not want him and put him up for adoption. Not knowing why your own parents wanted nothing to do with you can be tragic for many young children. Also, in his younger years when he did not have enough money to continue his college education he dropped out. To fix this problem he decided to attend in which he would just audit classes. In his professional career he was faced with an adversity when he was fired from his own company. The competencies I noticed that Steve Jobs exhibited is that he will do whatever it takes to create what he views as the best. If there was a problem, Steve Jobs would have found the solution. One part of the reading that was not necessarily confusing, but I personally do not understand why someone would experimenter with drugs or LSD. The two questions I would ask Steve Jobs if I had the opportunity would have to do with aspects of self-improvement that I can take away.
1. What do you believe are the necessary characteristic traits one must possess to be a successful entrepreneur?
2. Do you believe there is any such thing as going too far or doing too much to be successful?
I think the Steve Jobs opinion of hard work could be viewed from a quote he once said,
“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.”
I partially agree with his statement in which you have to love what you to be able to create great work. On the other hand, I do not agree with be consumed with your work and making it a large portion of your life.

Idea Napkin No. 1

1) I am a college student at the University of Florida. When it comes to my talents, I am good at seeing good ways to promote a product through social media outlets. My aspirations would be to start up an app that could help me and ultimately everyone. If I were to start this business it would not play a significant role in your life because it’s not something I am patient about.
2) My product is an application that can be on your phones to put all our credit cards into. Therefore when you go to purchase something at the grocery store all they have to do is scan the bar code on your phone to purchase the product.
3) I am offering this product to anyone with a smart phone. Also, it would be individuals who also have a credit or debit card.
4) The customers will find this app valuable to them because it will be a way more convenient way to purchase goods.
5) This app sets me apart from everyone else because it is something that is currently not invented yet.

I do believe all of these elements fit together for the success of my application that will store your credit/debit card information on and allow you to purchase items without having the credit card itself. This is a much easier and simplistic method for the exchange of goods. In regards to the customers, the need for this item, why customers care, and core competencies of this unmet need I believe they all fit together. When it comes to myself and the skills, experiences, and talents I possess I believe is the weaker point to this business concept. I feel I do not have the skills or knowledge to make this business concept a success.

tweaking the innovation

Product: A phone application in which your credit card and debit card information is stored for purchasing goods and services.

Revenue Drivers:

  1. Advertisement on main login screen:
  • Items:
    • bank of America ad- tangible
    • wells Fargo ad - tangible
    • SunTrust bank ad- tangible
Two innovations for advertisement on main login screen would be to create a different design to the advertisements and to add a sound to the ad to spark attention on advertisement.
2.    Downloading of the application:
  • Items:
    • Free version with ads- core, tangible
    • Paid version no ads-  core, augmented
Two innovations for downloading of the application would be faster downloading and easy access to finding the app in the app store.

3.      Advertisement on the credit/debit card choosing display page:
·        Items:
    • bank of America ad- tangible
    • wells Fargo ad - tangible
    • SunTrust bank ad- tangible

Two innovations for advertisement on the credit/debit card choosing display page would be a noise to entice user to press on advertisement and allow advertisers to choose the amount they want their ad viewed.

Elevator Pitch No. 1

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=deHnWAWvtvY

Nowadays everybody carry around these stuffed wallets that are filled with tons of credit card that they use daily, this method is very inefficient and can be made more simplistic.

I believe an application can be made for our phones to put all our credit cards into. Therefore when you go to purchase something at the grocery store all they have to do is scan the bar code on your phone to purchase the product.
