A time I was exposed to entrepreneurship was actually
recently in my life. I have a friend that decided to open his own cattle
business. Within his cattle business he works on the ranch as well as the
marketing side of promoting his business. I found it interesting that he
reached out to local restaurants and small groceries to market his products for
consumption.
I enrolled in ENT 3003 because
entrepreneurship has always interested. Many people create their own business,
which I find as something to be proud of and is something I would like to do
one day. I hope to get out of the class a few tips I can apply to the real
world to further myself in the business world.
Wow, I never heard of anyone opening up their own cattle business! That's really great that your friend is pretty much handling all the business aspects of it. I'm not sure if I would open up my own business right now, but I think this course would be very helpful if I do decide to open up my own physical therapy practice.
ReplyDeleteKelly,
ReplyDeleteGoing into business is a great ambition, and I wish you good luck! I myself never before thought of myself as a company owner. I hope your friend’s business will get to the level he wants it to be. Your story reminded me that I met an entrepreneur once, who came to Russia not long ago after the country’s borders opened for international business. It was a very uncertain time, and those who started business in Russia took a great risk. Back then of course I did not understand much about any of it, I just saw someone interesting, doing an interesting thing, something I’ve not seen before.
Wow - a cattle business sounds like a LOT of work and a big challenge! It is great that your friend is able to learn all sides and different aspects of owning and running a business. Marketing and working on a ranch are definitely two opposite jobs. I wish your friend the best of luck!
ReplyDeleteI, too, am looking forward to learning tips and tricks of entrepreneurship and the business world as a whole.
Hi Kelly,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading your "Entrepreneurship Story"! Your friend's entrepreneurial venture sounds really interesting--I love cows. It's really cool that he does the ranching part as well as the business side too, especially by reaching out to small grocery stores (what a great idea!). I'm glad you decided to take this course, it will definitely help you achieve your goals of running a business as well as give you valuable skills to apply to any position.
I look forward to more posts!
