Halfway Reflection

1) Tenaciousness is a competency. Some of the behaviors that I have used to keep up with the requirements of this course is organization. I used a planner to keep track of when assignments are due.
2) Tenaciousness is also about attitude. A
A moment I you felt like "giving up." was when I found out that you needed access to people to interview for the assignments, in which I did not have access to the first semester due to my location. Knowing that I can gain extra credit from quizzes, or surveys is what pulled me through. I do believe I have always had a tenacious attitude but I feel as I get older it continues to build. Different tough childhood experiences contributed to my tenacious attitude.
3) Three tips. Three tips I would offer next semester's student about (1) fostering the skills that support tenacity and (2) developing the 'tenacious mindset' would be the following:
1. Stay ORGANIZED.
2. Don’t be scared of FAILURE.
3.  Always give your BEST. (110%)

  1. I agree with all three of your tips at the end of your halfway reflection. Staying organized is the key to success in this course because of all the assignments. Of course, I also agree with giving 110% in not only this class, but everything you do. By the way, I like the Steph Curry picture! You did a great job on this assignment. Keep up the good work!

  2. I would say that a planner is key to any task that requires organization. Those interviews seem to be the bane to everyone's existence. I also loved your tips. Short and sweet. I found your picture of Curry interesting to end your post since he didn't end the series that well. Sorry, I had to add that in there lol.

  3. Hi, Kelly. I like your three tips. I think the tips will be very helpful for students who will take this class. I also had the same feeling like you “giving up” when we had the first interview. The first interview set I waited until the day before the interviews was due because I was extremely nervous about interviewing someone I never met. Great post!

  4. Hey Kelly,

I have learned there is no such thing as failure, there are only opportunities to learn. How we handle ourselves from these moments of weakness will determine how we overcome and become a better person in whatever aspect of life we are working on. Staying determined and focused will lead to success.

  5. Kelly,
I also use a planner in order to keep track of all the due dates, and I like that most of them are always due on the same day. I have skipped a lot of the interviews simply because I feel awkward conducting them, but I wonder if you talked to Dr. P about your location if he would give you an alternative assignment? Best of luck!
